Haaa no. Nope. Jkr IS Harry Potter. Yeah she wasn’t directly involved with the game but she’ll sure as fuck get royalties. Besides that, you’re voting with your wallet against trans people. Donating to charities as well as buying the game doesn’t do shit when the goal is to disprove jkr.
Separating the author from their work is basically impossible with hp, you have a creator who is actively choosing to use her platform and wealth to hurt and strike out against a marginalised group. She knows this and she’s choosing to continue. Despite the crowds of people trying to educate and speak out, she chose to write a giant fuck off essay basically stating why she’s right and is only trying to “save” women. (when trans women are in fact, women too). She’s so heavily tied to the world she created. The game devs will be fine, jkrs influence puts a group of people in danger.

Read other books. Thats where I’m starting, because honestly i dont know what else to do. And that’s okay! to not know is a okay. Greif is a process, it takes time and dialogue. Im also listening to a lot of trans voices on the matter.

I genuinely believe we can still call Hogwarts home because it has been a safe space for a lot of people. Hogwarts is ours here, she can talk as long as she wants but we have made HP ours a long time ago. I refuse to believe all our headcanons, ships and ideas were all in vain.
I am all in for letting JKR go rot in whatever TERF world she pleases in and not spending another dime on HP because it will benefit her but I don’t think I can let HP go because JKR insists on being transphobic and can’t be convinced that she is wrong. Harry Potter means more to me than the books she wrote, I don’t think I can handle getting rid of such a huge part of my life.

Now jokes aside – because this really isn’t funny at all – Lydia’s a genuine and lovely person with similar interests and we met in an organic and natural way and built a friendship like normal people in real life do.
Basically don’t hound people who don’t know anything about you for friendship or place unrealistic and entitled expectations on others and maybe friendships will form. ))
